Welding

Welding Sheet Metal

Welding is used to join pieces of metal together. The weld is achieved by partially melting the work pieces at a chosen point, sometimes with a filler material, to form a pool of molten material that cools, solidifies and becomes a joint.

St Ann’s Sheet Metal offers 3 types of welding:

Materials - Strength - Finish

Many factors affect the welding process. For instance different metals may require different types of welding due to surface reflectivity. The strength of the joint may depend on its load and anticipated durability. Finish is also important - certain welds may be unsuitable for fine work, for example, owing to leftover effects.

Established in 1960 St Ann’s Sheet Metal is a technologically advanced engineering company that specialises in the manufacture of sheet-metal machined products including welding.

Our reputation as a quality orientated sheet metal company in materials, workmanship and customer support is recognised by an ISO 9002 accreditation.
